Trimark door lock

Today while visiting with the kids. we all heard a click. Hearing not what it should be, couldn't figure it out until one of the gk's tried to go out and found the door locked. I unlocked the door, let her out and turned to walk away and heard the lock click again.

Anyone had this happen?

Always keep a spare key in my pocket. But I still found it to be weird.

That is not unusual for older systems. There are many posts about this SCS-Frigette system on several RVing fourms. Use the google search box at top of this page to locate those on irv2.com
Start leaving a window unlocked since this is happening, so if it locks you out, you have an entry to manually unlock the door.
While I had our MH in the shop for other repairs, it locked the technician out, luckily he knew his business and had left a window unlocked. He phoned me and asked permission to replace the system.

Incidently, there was a post today about how to re-wire the old SCS-Frigette system to the newer system, but you have the newer system.

Thanks Ray,IN. Good idea about the window, but may have to have one of the GK's travel with us as that may prove to be difficult for an overweight, old man![emoji39]

Russ, there are brass contacts for the door lock inside the door hinge about half way up. Make sure there is nothing shorting across the contacts.

Also, if you want to prevent the door from locking you can place a piece of tape across the contacts.

vito.a jogged my memory about some things to try. First polish the contacts on both door and door frame, remove the plate holding the contacts on the door frame and inspect the wire connections, making sure they are clean and tight.
This is a long-shot, as that is the way mine did prior to stopping working. I had my entire system replaced, the new key fobs have buttons for electric basement compartment locks, which I don't have.
