Trombetta relay

Installed a new relay for the battery banks

Old one never worked from new and didn't realize it until I needed to start the generator

Question is after installing the relay is activated with the chassis battery switch off and the salesman switch off and no shore power

Is this normal?

Did you shut the solar off too?
This post is my opinion, worth what you paid for it.
Our New ride...08 HR Navigator 45. A nice upgrade after 14 years with a 04 Dynasty 42.

They are activated by manual switch ( boost ) ore by a voltage sensing device. ( BIRD, IRD, ....)

If the batteries were on charge just before you shut down any charging source, the batteries may be holding enough voltage to keep it activated.

Remove all charging sources and run some 12 volt stuff to get the batteries below 13 volts and see if it de-activates.

"twinboat".....electrical is not my forte, but I have dealt with BIRD systems and trombetta relays on my previous coach. When I read the OP's question, I figured....good luck on figuring this out quickly. Wow.....you nailed it first try!
