Truck Tires vs RV Tires

I am looking for tire information. We have a 2006 Fleetwood Revolution LE, the front tires are Michelin 295/80R 22.5 the rear tires are Goodyear 295/80R 22.5. the front tires are new but we need to replace the rear tires. Without spending $3000.00 for 4 new rear tires I hear people are buying truck tires but the ride is a little rougher. Truck tires are sized different 295/70R 22.5. My question is has anyone done this and what are the pros and cons of using different size tires on the rear of the RV?

I just replaced the same size Michelins with Toyo M144 295/80/r22.5 LRH for $387 each. $3625 for all eight including mounting, balance and tax. Very satisfied after 4,000 miles. My wife says the ride is better than the Michelins were. I'm getting better mileage too.

Tires

Having sold tires over the years, my advice would be to use factory recommended size and load range. Michelin and Toyo (the Michelin of Japan) have very good ride quality , Goodyear may last slightly longer. Good Luck

Instead of putting 6 295/80/22.5s on the rear of my 04 Dynasty (had already gone bigger on the front) I put Hankook 11R22.5 as they are the same diameter. With a tag axle I did not need the load carrying of a 295. I would not go with the much smaller diameter or a 70 series tire.
How much weight do you have on your rear axle?

Our ”New” ride...08 HR Navigator 45’. A nice upgrade after 14 years with a 04 Dynasty 42’.
