TT and Big Rig Camping...
I've recently purchased a "New to me" Allegro Bus 45 OP with the intent of primarily staying in Thousand Trails campgrounds. After doing a little research, fully 1/2 of TT campgrounds limit RV size to 40' or less.
Has anyone else confronted this issue and come up with a solution?
I wanted to use TT primarily for financial reasons. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Crying in my big rig...

Looks like your only option is to register as a 40 footer as most 40 foot spots can handle a 45. The worst that can happen is you fit or they'll ask you to leave and you may need to park your tow away from your spot.

Many of the TT campgrounds were prior state parks or like. We are 41' We just tell them 40' Some TT parks let you pick from available sites. Many sites we could not get into.
Join the Encore add on for nicer and larger parks/sites.
Scheduling and rules are a PITA.

I've found that many (most?) RV parks advertise their lengths these days.
If you're looking to save money, Passport America parks are handy while you travel. They're a 50% off club. And their search page, even if you don't become a member, will let you know if they can handle your rig length.
I'm staying at a PPA park now and the sites here are easily 70 feet.
I'm just saying I don't think you have too much to worry about in most of the country about length as the industry adjusts to rig size over time. And right now, they're working towards big rig size spaces. I've seen many TT parks that have very long spaces but I only visit in those that allow visitors, I won't buy into their setup...just don't think much of most of the TT parks I've stayed at.

We were TT members for several years and had no problems with our 40 footer. The sites we generally had would easily accommodate a 45. However, there are some (few?) TT parks that do have shorter sites. Their length estimates are conservative, though, so some of them that claim 38-40 ft limits may well handle a 45 if you are careful. It's just something you will have to learn by experience.

I have stayed at a handful of TT CG so far and most have a pull thru site or two, some have many, usual sites are 40' or less. I've been to some of the CG that had a confused utility layout. Otherwise you can make it work.
The ones I have been at allow you to pick your site as you drive around - which I do in my Jeep. In high occupancy months, they take you to available sites (you are in your RV), you pull into the one you want.
Main problem with older TT CG is the power. I measure voltage before I pick the sites available. I've had to move to a different site in several of their CG.

With TT the site you get is just the luck of the draw. Sometimes the long sites go first. Its always going to be a gamble at TT.
