Just to make sure I'm doing it right, I'm using the top R and L RCA jacks marked "Monitor Out" for the TV output to the radio. With an 8 ohm speaker attached to those jacks, I can barely hear the TV. It's better with ear buds, but I don't know what I should hear with a speaker. Am I doing it right, or does that mean from another "Monitor Output? I've had stereo amps with marking of "VCR Out", which was actually where the output from the VCR plugged in, not the output from the amp to a VCR.

Doing a little Google research, I think you may not be able to directly input audio to your tuner/player unit because of that Compact Disk Changer option. It appears you need a "CDC emulator" electronic device to make the main unit think it is controlling an actual changer. Google "cd changer emulator". There is a whole dissertation from Central Florida University about emulator design, and here is another. While there are commercial emulators, I did not see any specifically for the Audiovox, but I didn't research exhaustively.
IMHO, your tuner will not switch to the CDC function unless something reasonably like a changer is plugged in, and if it doesn't switch to that input, then your audio input from the TV won't play. FWIW, I use the variable output from my computer and MP3 player into my tuner AUX so I can crank the input volume up to an adequate level for the tuner's amp to play at a proper volume.

I'm reading, I'm reading.... BTW, thanks for the research. Never would have thought of looking for a SPDIF emulator.

I tried 1k across +12V to ACC and +12V to CDC BUS and still nothing. It looks like I need some 0s and 1s going to the HU from what I have read so far. It looks too complicated or expensive to go the emulator route. Gonna try the WM Audio to Tape device if I can fine one at WM. My ears aren't that good anyway, so quality isn't an issue.
If anybody can find an easy way to do what I'm trying to do, please let me know.
Thanks for all the help.

I'd have to agree that the RF interface to the player's FM tuner would be a cleaner install. The cassette adapter should work OK, but you will have wires dangling around. With 3 cassette adapters, you have probably cornered the world's supply. I have one in my ever growing obsolete electronics pile, but our Dolphin has the only cassette player in my inventory. National played a cruel trick by giving you the VR-180 CD changer version rather than a standard model with an AUX input. Hope all works out and you still have some hair left.

You could have obsoleted one to me and claim it as a charitable contribution on you taxes.
I can route the wire one of the ways shown below and route it up the side to the back of the TV.
I wonder if the CDC has an AUX input. I will find out what one looks like in a couple weeks. My buddy has a Breeze LX with one that he never uses. If it does, and is not too cosmetically challenging, maybe I can swap with him.
Hey, for my $.02 I figured why not get a couple spares. I think the one I did have quit working and when I took it apart so see if I could fix it, it `sploded.

The cassette adapter will work fine, I have been using one for my XM radio in my cars and MotorHome. Audio quality is as good or better than an RF modulator. Connect it to the two audio outputs of the TV, or earphone output if it has one. The audio outputs (RCA) are not designed to drive a speaker so you cannot connect them directly. You are using the radio as an audio amplifier in this case.

Good to hear. I knew the output wouldn't drive a speaker. Just to make sure, I tested all the jacks and there was no sound at any of the other RCA jacks. No ear phone jack either.
Seller must make up for the low prices with shipping. Check out some other items for as low as $0.02.

Got the 3 adapters today, 9/29, 15 minutes after seeing "Delivered" and sending email to the seller. The tracking numbers didn't work at FedEx, UPS or USPS????
Anyway it works. I now have faux Surround Sound Stereo coming out of 6 speakers. Two on the TV and the four overhead. Ended up only having ~1 inch of wire "dangling". Even with the TV set to "Internal" speakers, it still comes out the RCA jacks.
Thx to anyone who helped.
