TV Audio to Stereo speakers?
I would like to hook up the TV audio to go through the radio speakers that are in the ceiling (6) to get better sound for my hearing problem. What do I need to do without spending big bucks for a surround sound system? Will stereo spkrs. handle tv audio? Thanks for any help.

I doubt if the TV amplifier will power the speakers in the ceiling. You best bet will be to get a small surround sound set up.

I bought a small amplifier for 25 dollars. Pyle makes several different models. You will have to send the TV to the amp and then out to the speakers. Took me about 30 minutes

Alleyman, I see you have a Dolphin. It depends on what equipment you have to make the TV work. Do you have an Audiovox VR180 combination radio/CD/cassette player in your dash? If you look under your dash, you may find, as I did, a set of RCA jacks leading into the radio. Those are for the AUX input position on the player. I play my computer and MP3 player through them. If your TV has audio out jacks, you could run a wire between the TV to the AUX connection. That is a simple explanation for what would be a tricky project, but it is a possibility. Here is a link to the player manual if you don't have one.

We are working on the same thing. A few manufacturers produce in dash radios which, when hooked to the TV or DVD, will amplify, equalize and distribute your audio. A radio replacement is in the works for spring for exactly the purpose you mention in our coach. We are still shopping so please post your findings.

I had a similiar problem. I have an '02 Newmar Mountain Aire.
When I removed the original 27" RCA TV to replace it with a 32" Sony Bravia 1080i LCD, I found two RCA audio cables in the old TV. I put these audio cables into my "audio output" of my new TV. I then turned the in-dash radio on and put my in-dash radio to AUX 1, and turned up the radio volume to high. My TV sound is now available to all the speakers in the coach, and the TV volume is now controlled by the remote control of the TV.
Good Luck,

My quick fix for this while I was on the road on my first trip with my rig... Walmart... I was in the parking lot anyway... got a cable that had a stereo headphone jack on each end and plugged it into the headphone jack on the front of the tv, plugged the other end into the aux input on my indash stereo. Volume adjusts via the tv remote... very simple but you do have the wire hanging down while parked. I just unplug it for travel. When I switch to LED from tube, I'll probably run the wires and hook to the back of the indash. I think the cable was 4 or 5 bucks.

Although min radio is not a Audiovox, This is still what I did. Ran an RCA cable between the audio out of the TV and AUX in of the radio.

Bluetooth solution
I also have the same concern as Alleyman. I have been looking into a solution for the weak TV audio without going to a full blown theater system. I also need to replace my in dash audio unit because the CD player no longer works. What I have decided to do is install a Sony bluetooth audio head unit which is available on ebay for about $150.00, and order two 3.5mm bluetooth transmitters from ebay for about $30.00 each, that will plug into the headphone jack of the TV's. With this set up I will be able to stream audio via bluetooth from either my front or rear TV through my in dash audio unit. Since this system uses the existing 3.5mm headphone jack on the TV, I also will be able to control the volume with the TV's remote.
Edit, The Sony head unit will also allow me to play my mp3's on my computer wirelessly.

If you have surround sound speakers, you really need to install a small surround sound receiver. That way you can plug all of your audio components into the receiver and let it output to your surround sound system. Good luck finding a small surround sound receiver. I have found 2 that are small but they are not cheap.

My 2004 Sea Breeze has the Audiovox VR180 in-dash radio, but no RCA input leads. It is made to have a CDC(Changer) input thru an 8-pin connector on the back of the radio. I have a cable with the right connector on one end, but still need help getting it to play thru the overhead radio speakers.
Please see post #25 of the below thread.

if you can get to the audio RCA jacks on your TV....this is all you need....it transmits to your radio via air...no actual radio connection required

Thx, Link saved and I will look into items like this if I can't figure out what the pin-out is for the connector on the back of my radio. I keep forgetting to cal Audiovox to see if they will help me. It is on my to-do list.
