Ultra Low Diesel Fuel in Mexico 2016

We were hoping to go to Mexico with our 2011 Phaeton in Feb 2017.
Does anyone know whether or not Mexico has changed to ULDF or not?
Has anyone with a later model Class A diesel travelled into Mexico recently? The trip we would go on is 3000 km return.

To answer your question a person would needs to know where you are going in Mexico. ULSD is not available in all areas of Mexico. I am familiar with Baja Mexico. ULSD is only available in Baja Norte. Baja Sur, which is Gurrero Negro South to Cabo, is LSD. As I winter in Baja Sur I have a 50gal spare tank in my toad, which gets me back to Baja Norte.

Others will need to talk about the Mainland. There are many internet post about Mexico Diesel.

We would be travelling on the mainland of Mexico.
Hermosillo, San Carlos, Huatabampito, Alamos and Mazatlan.
From any research we have done so far, it looks like ULSD is still not available unless in a major city like Mexico City. Apparently this is supposed to change by 2017.
Until it can be certain fuel stations in Mexico would have ULSD I guess it wouldn't be worth the risk of taking the MH down.

Can't speak to UL diesel for road use in Mexico now. When living in SoCa use to cross border just to buy gas and diesel in days before UL. However, a friend used hundreds of gallons of Mexican marine diesel in his twin screw trawler. Had to overhaul both low time engines right after. I have heard that UL diesel is available in some cities in Mexico now. I would not chance it with my 2010 coach.

Thank you for your input.
We have decided it isn't worth the risk to have something go wrong with our MH. So until it can be guaranteed that Mexico will have ULSD the MH will stay north of the border.

There's a web site called MexicoMike that covers this pretty well. [https://www.mexicomike.com/fuel_in_m...l-mexico.html]

Sounds like a good decision.
