Unlevel stovetop problems

I have an Atwood stove in a 2016 Fleetwood Excursion. It has a 2 piece top grate that won't stay level due to the 2 pieces pushing up in the middle against each other.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

I've played with this quite a few times and other than removing some of the rubber pads that the corners sit in, I can't seem to get it to not be high in the middle. Unfortunately this hump causes pans to slide as you're cooking.

If the grates have holes they sit in, elongate the holes.

I'd guess the metal frame of the stove was wracked when the techs installed in their haste to get number 52 built in the same day at that factory.

I know out old Atwood has one corner of the cooktop frame that is high - as a result, the upper "pan" is high in one corner and thusly the grate is also high.

The primary cause of this cascade of poor workmanship is from the cabinet, where the rail the frame sits on is too high on one side. And, of course, no one has bothered to fix this (but I swear I will one day!).

I'm assuming you have the 3 burner with the 2 piece light grill grates. If it's the model with the heavier cast grates then disregard the following:

I would first remove the grates and lay them upside down on a flat surface and check to see if it's bent. If bent use a rubber mallet and straighten it out. If not bent then step two would be to adjust the legs that go into the holes supporting the grill. Some of these Atwoods/Dometics use little rubber grommets (one per leg) available online. Without those it's difficult to get it level.

To accomplish this you need to level your coach and then use a level and adjust (bend the legs) accordingly. Take your time as I know you will succeed.

If the cook top itself is not level then it needs to be removed and re-installed with shims or cabinet modifications.
