Follow up on the auction I posted earlier. I know a huge percentage do not care but here are some of the results just for your info.

2005 Monaco Diplomat 400 Cummins RR w/23.5k miles $55,835+buyers premium. A good buy.
2005 Safari Gazelle 40PAQ Cat400 side rad w/27k miles $45,300 +buyers premium, this I think a very good buy. Even addtional improvements needed.
A couple more
2005 Alfa See Ya Founder Edition 36FD Cat 300hp $27,525+buyers premium. A decent buy.
and lastly 2005 Georgie Boy Pursuit 3180 LE DS Ford v-10, 31 foot for $2,100. For that price I can put up with the noisy v-10 with premium Blu tooth headphones and/or re-insulate engine compartment

Of course all the units will need things fixed etc and full service maintenance, LOF, tranny fluid change, antifreeze check/change, filters etc., plus the added personalization that most of us do.

That's an excellent deal. Where are these auctions? I have a friend looking now. Mine was significantly higher than that, but it was in pristine condition and had all service records, and the original owner had over $10,000 in upgrades after purchase, but still.

It doesn't really matter if you go 350 -400 hp you're still going to go up the hill at about 40-45 mph but don't worry on the other side you can go as fast as you want down the other side.

RobbieH you must have missed my original post #33. The site is Crankyape.com. They are located in Minnesota, Texas, Georgia, Indiana and Arizona. None close to me and many other prospective buyers. Most sales are in Minnesota and Arizona.

On the Safari if I remember correctly that it needed tires, slide out awning covers and when the pictures were up, the front of rv needed the rock chip cover taken off. There is still one picture of it in the sold section. I believe if you are really interested you can hire someone for a full scale in depth inspection. The auction employees give you a fairly good detail of inspection and some even have videos of the engine running and they do take test drives on everything that runs and tell you of funny noises or things out of place.

Thank you for that. Georgetown is a good location for us. It appears this unit needs a lot of work, not just tires and awnings. But it will be good for my friend to use as a place to look for potential bargains.

I do think the Safari needed both tv's redone also but do not remember much else.
Maybe your friend will want to bid on this with a 525hp Cummins in Georgetown.

Well bought a new to us, first time owning a MH. Didn't get 350 or 400 hp MH. Bought a 500 hp ISM Cummins ISM engine in a 2002 Monaco Signature Triple Crown.

So pulling a 5er with a duramax Lbz at 20k lbs gcw is 55 lbs per hp. That's were you are coming from so you need as much HP as you can get.
