when we had the tires replaced
i used the jacks with full air ride height to take some of the load of the coach. just a bit
then they put jack stands under the frame in the rear. and then used a set up front on frame by genny
then i dumped bags pressure and they jacked each wheel up enough to clear the ground. looked funny

but i was safe for the tire folks

but if i need clearance to grease or roll under, i use ramps or lift it up and stick stands under where i am working

I built six, two for the front and four for the back. Easier to handle.

Here's the ones I built. I used 1 1/8" x 49" x 97" tongue and groove decking plywood available at Home Depot. At the time, about 6-7 years ago, it was $54 a sheet. The way I built (5) complete ramps, it only took 3/4 of a sheet which leaves enough to build one more complete stepped ramp.

Using hydraulic jacks to lift rv for servicing?

Not necessary, the inner tire will support the weight fine.

To answer the OP, I use the jacks to get the wheels off the ground if necessary and put heavy equipment jack stands under the front crossmember. I’ve done the same thing on the rear, but can’t remember exactly where I put the stands. I work on earthmoving equipment for a living so I keep heavy stands on my truck. Understandably most won’t have stands appropriate for the job at home. They aren’t cheap.

If you need to lift the rear off the ground be sure and chock the front wheels.

I don’t think stretching the airbags is an issue. The chassis has limited movement so that shouldn’t happen. Sometimes it’s necessary to lift a tire off the ground in an extremely unlevel site. Done it many times with no ill effects.

If you just need it at ride height, I put some high compression cement post bases under the jacks and shimmed any remaining space with wood. Then dump the suspension & deploy the jacks. The jacks hardly move if you shimmed it tight.

Since you shimmed the jacks before dumping and extending the jacks, a failed hydraulic system would only lower the MH the little space you left before you dumped the air bags.

Ir's been about 10 years since an RV technician in N. Indiana suffocated under a MH when it came down on him and pinned him enough that he couldn't breathe. His co-workers found him after he didn't show up for lunch break.
I too have a set of 4 wooden ramps for my safety.
