Vacuum pump

I have a 2000 Harney coach and the vacuum pump that controls the A/C and heater vents is making a lot of noise and seems to run all the time.
I have found the replacement pump is an Evans Rv212471 pump and is avaiable on Amazon for $213.00. I have also found a Dorman pump 904-214 that appears to be close to the same as the Evans but, is only $52.00.
Has anyone done the repair or replacement of the Evans pump and do you need an exact replacement or not?
Thanks for any input

If the $52 pump has the same capacities of the original $213 pump, I'd use the cheaper one. Even if it only lasts half as long as the original, you can replace the OE pump 4 times and still break even.

And long before I spent the $52 on even the cheaper pump, I'd check the vacuum lines and replace them instead - I've got a '99 pickup and I'm on my 3rd set of vacuum lines in some places - vacuum hose is cheap and likes to crumble and leak, particularly when exposed to heat or weather.

New vacuum hoses won't quiet down the old pump, it might make it run less often, but won't fix it.

vacuum pump

Thanks for the comments. I took the old one off and it rattles like a BB in a can.
All the systems it controls are working fine. Never had any dealings with vacuum pumps so maybe the rattle is normal. Any one know if it should rattle.
Thanks
