I really dislike the front windshield wraparound cloth shade, did you do anything there?
No banging at all, there are metal "Hold Down" brackets but we mostly drive with the blinds up. VERY inexpensive for 10 custom sized blinds ($350). I made curtains for the windshield, lined with black out liner... Matches the living & kitchen area. I replaced the "sewn in" Curtain Carriers with Carriers with a loop so I can use Cafe Clips. No loss in privacy & looks a lot better than those other ugly curtains. Click image for larger version

Thank you Bob
I have an American Dream which is also Fleetwood. Valances are probably installed the same. I first took out the screws from the bottom (the vertical "legs") of the valance, one on each "leg" screwed in on an angle ... Sometimes hard to find but it's there hidden in the fabric. The horizontal piece above the window is a little trickier... The screws are between the window & shade, hidden in the pleat of the shade...not the front of the day/night shade but the back. Should be about 4 or 5 screws depending on the length. Everything (shades & valance) should come down once the horizontal piece is unscrewed. We had lighting in our valances, they were easy to unplug once valance was unattached. Hope this made sense to you, kinda hard for me to explain, lol!
