Very few coaches to buy !!!

It's true !!!
Thinking about downsizing from our Monaco 43DFT since we are only two and not full time...

Went by Motorhome Specialist In Alvarado, Tx... sort of a large dealer!

The rumors are true, they have very little to sell !!!

They used to have three HUGE lots of rv's and are down to about a half a lot of just a scattered few rv's !!!

Guess no new inventory coming in and all kinds of new buyers testing the RV waters !

This is a panoramic shot of their main lot:

MHS has been low on inventory for awhile. We took our coach over for some warranty work in August and were in shock.

The dealer nearest us used to have RV's squeezed in so close with barely a couple inches between deployed slideouts. Now there's between 1/3-1/2 of their normal inventory & they're spaced out as if they were being "social distanced".

I went by there last month and found the same thing. They did have a lot of motorhomes waiting on service (which was doing a brisk business), but very few unsold units in the main lot areas. They gave me a low ball trade in offer on my Palazzo, so I decided to keep looking.

We were in Nashville a month ago on Music Valley Drive where there is a Gander and a Camping World. From the street it looked like they were packed tight with inventory.

We stopped at Midway RV for some service work and they were almost out of unsold inventory.

Give it 2 years... slightly used RVs will be selling for pennies on the dollar.

MHS used to be one of the best places to buy an RV of any kind but especially motorhomes. Huge inventory and great CS. But the family sold out a couple of years ago to another outfit and every since then it's gone down hill. To bad.

I was there on Saturday. Made an offer on a coach and was told they just got it and had not listed it yet so they did not want to take an offer. So I bought a newer Anthem somewhere else.

According to the National Indoor RV Center sales website, their inventory of Class A DPs looks like this: 7 available, 94 on order and 129 pending sales.

Stopped by the Atlanta location a couple of weeks ago and the inventory for that location is: 2 available, 28 on order and 51 pending sales.

Edit to add - these are for new units. Inventory counts bump up a little if 'used' is also included.

I sold my trailer in june to someone that traveled 1500 miles 28 hours each way to buy it. Yeah there is a shortage.

RCD near us has a very large lot. They always seem to have several hunderd of rv. In late march they were closed by covid, but then they were considered essential. One of the managers is a friend.

Every month since they re-opened they have been setting sales records. They were running low on inventory and parking rv sideways and 40 feet apart to look like they had inventory. But then the manufactures started delivering new units.
