Vibration after generator shut off

I am sitting in my MH parked at a Flying J for the night. The diesel engine is off. I ran the generator briefly but it is shut off as well. It feels like something is running. I feel a vibration coming from the floor.

Can anyone tell me what is going on, and how I can stop the vibration?

Thank you.

Liz

Hi Liz, How about the water pump? Look in your wet bay door and see if you can hear it better.

I turned off the water pump and still feel it.

The semis are on the other side; I'm parked on the car side. Perhaps it is the trucks. It's a very strange sensation.

I have a 23ft 1988 class A with a Dodge 360 engine. I feel the same thing after driving all day. It has happened on many occasions while driving full days.

At first I thought there was an electric fuel pump in the gas tank that was still running, OR that it was a semi on the either side of the Truck Stop parking lot… :(

My girlfriend couldn't feel it, but she didn't spend all day driving the rig, so I am thinking it is just from having my legs stuck in the driving position all day on the floor and gas pedal.

Let me know what you figure out as I am also curious as to what is causing the vibration on the floor after I shut the RV down for the night.

IAN

Thanks Ian. I've driven long days and overnighted at truck stops before but never experienced this before. It's very odd.

I know it's VERY ODD, especially since my girlfriend couldn't feel it. I will try and test it again when I take the RV for short local runs here and see if I feel the floor vibration after shutting everything down.

Thanks Ian. I'll let you know if I figure it out. It's never happened to me before. Weird.

Walk back to your towed and sit in it for a time to see if you feel a vibration there. It could be muscle tremors from driving tensed-up. I've experienced that after a long stressful driving day, which is another reason I now limit driving to 300 miles a day max.

Thanks Ray. I didn't feel it in the toad. As long as it's nothing serious I won't worry about it.

I did about 300 miles today but it was stressful at times. The "scenic route" wasn't too relaxing. :-)

Do we think it related to "muscle tremors"…?

I could swear that it felt like an electric pump vibration coming from under the floor. What was weird was, I was on my hands and knees and could swear I could feel the floor vibrating yet my GF couldn't (so she thought I was losing it) :(

Now that I think of it, I usually felt it after having a 500 mile day in a noisy, vibrating old RV.

The next time I take it out for a 10-20 mile trip, I'll try and see if I feel any vibrations ( or muscle tremors)

Liz--can you hear anything running? Have you done a walk-around the RV? That would make me crazy(er).

You have a diesel pusher right? Do you have an aquahot heating system? Could that be running? They can vibrate.
