Great memories, thanks for the video. I'm from the Bronx and was ther last year when my Mom passed. I've driven that route countless times. It looks alot worse then it is on your sped up video.

the trip from start of video to end is about 45 minutes with no traffic issues ( I was lucky )... of you watch it again and look at the westbound lanes after the tunnels in manhattan... you'll see that it COULD take from 45 minutes to 4 hours.... I can attest to sitting in traffic for over 3 hours on my personal worst for this trip going EAST and hitting NYC around 5PM on a Friday.
glad you enjoyed the video.
cheers

If I could do that in 2:31 to Salem, MA, I would do it monthly and forget the Tappan Zee!! Great video.

Great video...I made the mistake of taking that route on the Harley. Entering the maze on a Friday @ 5 pm, I spent most of my time talking to the people in the lane beside me.

Did I-95 100s of times over the GWB and your route near the City.
All I can say is that you have a real set of em!
I would have been way north on the Tappan Zee at least.
Very nice vidio though. Beats the one my kid took from the cockpit going into LAX

That traffic was nothing compared to Chicago's Dan Ryan

Thanks for the video! I haven't driven thru the City since 1973. Don't guess I ever will again.

Thanks for the Video I enjoyed that.
I do CT to NJ up to 6 times ( 12 if you do round trip ) each year. I hate big city traffic. I avoid GWB like the plague. I go Tappan zee and avoid the mess unless I really have to go into the city. Sometimes I even go around by the NY Thruway and come across at Newburg to 84 depending on traffic and the time of day.
I spent a little over 4 hours the last trip from staten island to 95 on a Sunday afternoon. I avoid all dog shows on LI now and SI. Too much stress.
I just went through Chicago on 90 last Auguse... that is another zoo to drive through with a motorhome. I loved the lighted signs at Chicago telling you how long the wait was.
