Vroom Slide Systems - Tiffin Approved

I've performed various searches online and on this forum, and I am finding very little regarding the Vroom Slide Systems. I know of another Tiffin owner of a 2020 Red 340 that had both his DS and PS slide systems (Schwintek) replaced with Vroom Slide Systems by Tiffin in Red Bay. He absolutely loves the operation. Says they are smooth. I have e-mailed the founder of Vroom, and he has been very responsive to my e-mails and questions. I indicated to him that I can't find any testimonials from anyone regarding his product. The website does a pretty good job of explaining it. He acknowledged that Tiffin has authorized his product to be used as a retrofit for the warranty work when needed. He said he is adding to his website and it will include testimonials and I imagine photos of prior work (he didn't say photos, but I suspect it will). To be honest I cringe every time I extend or retract my 2 large slides.

Is there another thread on this, or does anyone know about this system?

Watched a Schwintec being replaced last trip to Tiffin, Red Bay, Vroom slide is robust and sturdy compared to the Schwintec. Last picture is the owner of Vroom.

Just had my larger kitchen slide fail today

Fortunately it failed in my driveway after coming home from a trip. The entire slide is tilted out at the top about 4 inches.

Wonderful. Another. Are you considering Vroom?

Not yet. Apparently Tiffin has decided to warranty the slides for 2 yrs and I’m at 18 months. I assume the dealer will replace with another schwintec. The driver’s side has been replaced once and seems to be doing OK. I’m thinking the kitchen slide is too heavy and extends too far out, with all that weight cantilevered out over the sidewalls. I’m also thinking after replacement, I may not fully extend the kitchen slide and try to better balance the weight towards the inside. I don’t know. Hopefully we didn’t spend a bunch of money on a bad design

I see the 2022 now have hydraulic slides on the front 2 slides.

I wish they would have put them on ours. I know another 340 33AL owner (2020) that had both large slide systems replaced in Red Bay by Tiffin with Vroom. The weird thing is I haven't had any real issues yet. But I don't want to have them, and I know it is only a matter of time. Have you heard any negatives about the Vroom system?

No, I have not heard any negatives, but I think they are too new. I like the heavy duty look of the rack. Most problems show up only after significant number have been installed. Relative to Tiffin (and probably others) I think they are not installing the systems properly and maintaining proper installation clearances.

Our Schwintek failed completely in late April. Parts were on backorder and it took until early July to be repaired. The entire Schwintek was replaced. Now, it has signs that it's starting to fail again. The repair facility can't even get me in for a couple weeks. Fortunately we're at home and have no travel plans. Depending on what they find this time we may have to consider a Vroom replacement. We are planning a trip to Tucson in February anyway, so it might be a good time to have it done.
It would be great if Vroom had other places that could do the installation besides their facility in Tucson and Red Bay. Red Bay is too far for us to travel and subjecting the coach to all those miles on horrible roads will probably lead to other problems.

It's stressful that every time I put the slides in or out I'm crossing my fingers they'll work.

I have been quoted $2500 per slide. Brian said to allow one day per slide when planning the trip. I'm scheduled for May.

Our friends have the failing Schwintek system on their Tiffin and it sat in the shop for two months until they were replaced. In the interim, I had just read about the Vroom and passed along the info. He finally got it home and they failed again.

He returned the coach to the shop (Southern California) and it looks like Tiffin has authorized the Vroom installation. They are sending out a rep from Vroom to show the shop how to do the install. Hopefully, the tech will use my friend's coach as the representative coach.

If you are on Facebook you should join the Tiffin Motorhome Owners Group. Once joined, do a search on Vroom and you will find many posts from people who have had the system installed. I got a text from Brannon Hutcheson at Custom RV in Red Bay earlier this week and he said he is currently scheduled out until May for installations. I am planning my annual trip to Red Bay in September and will make an appointment with Brannon to get my Schwintec replaced (bedroom slide in 2020 RED 37BA).
