Want to replace carpet, looking for installer.

Presently have a 05 Country Coach and want to replace the carpet with anything but carpet. Looking for suggestions of what type of flooring to install.

Also looking for an experienced installer in the Ocala Florida area.

Just finished remodeling an 06 Monaco diplomat. If the carpet is original, they tend to use an outrageous amount of staples, tear out is tedious. We installed vinyl plank flooring and it looks great, however, very tedious install (a lot of nooks and cranny’s to get into and make cuts on). Also, you need to consider the slides. We ended up putting new carpet on the slide outs because of the clearance for when the slides moves in and out it got a bit tricky. Also, the weight on the slides of the plank flooring would be tough. I live in AZ so can’t help you with recommendations for installer, but honestly, I would contact a flooring contractor and odds are they would be able to help / point you in the right direction. It’s not rocket science / much different than doing a residential home, just VERY tedious. Good luck and feel free to reach out with any other questions!

The staples will be the worst part of the removal by far. I use a disk grinder with a 36 grit disk, just skim the floor and cut them flush.

Check out Wade RV. Their shop is in the lazy days facility in Tampa. We had them do work on our past 2 RV's and were very satisfied with the outcome.

Just finishing up this process on my 2005 Dutch Star.

It is as has been mentioned a lot of work. I pulled up all the carpet, tile, and the tile backer board and put in vinyl plank from front to back and on the Flat slide. Looks fantastic and is certainly doable but it is a major project.

If I was paying someone to do it it would be Ernie Ekberg. He is probably the most knowledgeable when it comes to flooring upgrades. In the end I chose to do it myself because of my timing and availability and Ernie is near Dallas which did not work with my schedule.

You are probably looking at 6k+ for the labor.

Starting trim work today but I'm very pleased with the new look.
