ex-SubGuy,
could you please take a look at the model for the washer and dryer. I have only been able to find one whirlpool 120v dryer.

All 50amp coaches have 240 vac available, however most coach builders don't wire up any 240 circuits.

It's true that 240VAC is available from the 50 amp pedestal receptacles at campgrounds.... and that most coaches have NO 240VAC circuits/circuit breakers/wiring....(not only that but most 50 amp coaches have a generator which only produces 120VAC).

I agree with you and said the same in post #11. I have a 240 generator but have no interest in a 240 dryer. The Splendide combo has served us well for 10 years now. It takes a while to dry but I've got more time than money.

So I beg to differ. Now my 8k gennies does not put out 240 only 120 on to legs.

The supply from and RV Park pedestal is 120/240 volts.

My father ran a 240 volt dryer on 120 volts for a few years. The motor is still 120 volts. It took a long time to dry anything, but it worked.

The COE site I'm in has 220 volts.

The MH may not offer 240 volts but the power is comming in to it. Read your shore cord plug.

Freakin' bubbleheads seem to be everywhere these days. Even one of the service guys at the Frieghtliner shop in Billings turned out to be one. We're everywhere.

My $0.02 worth, I've only been using the Splendide units for 5 weeks, generally do laundry once a week, no complaints so far. The washer is exceptionally quiet, the dryer is pretty loud.

I didn't realize that the washer could shake an 18T rig when it's up on the jacks. When it starts the spin cycle, it's not just a bit of vibration, if I'm sitting on the couch or dining table, things shake vigorously like a small earthquake. Not a problem with the washer, just physics at work/play.

To the folks talking 240V, why? The only time you need that is for things you can dry on high heat, which in my case is not really all that much stuff. Pretty much all the clothes and bedding I've got all recommend tumble dry warm.

The 110V dryer doesn't seem to take that long. If I'm doing flannel sheets I would ordinarily set it for an hour but I end up setting it for 30m and then cleaning the lint screen, then doing the other 30m. Keeping the screen clean makes them dry much faster.

We are on Splendide number three, two single units and one stackable. All have worked fine, with good tech support.

We have a Bosch set of stackable washer and dryer. They are probably the best you can buy, if you can afford them. The dryer is 220V and the set will only work if we have 50A hookup or run our generator. DW absolutely loves them. We will do a wash sometimes, leave the campground and then run the generator as we drive and dry the wash while moving.

That's why I'd rather stick with my 120V units.
I seem to end up in 30A only parks close to 50% of the time

!

I have Whirlpool units, and they work fine.

Hey guys, didn't mean to stir up a hornets nest arguing over 120 VS 240!!!
I WANT a 120 volt dryer. If any of you have recent model washer and dryer, within a few years so it's still available, other than splendide, I would like to have the make and model so I can research it.
I know a lot of people are very happy with their splendid units but would like some other options too.
