Water coming out of fresh water hose when stored

New issue and can't figure out why it's happening. I filled up our fresh water tank, moved the connection back to city water connection, and now, when we use the water pump for fresh water it comes out of our 50ft water hose that is stored.

It's almost like it is siphoned or something, not a heavy pressured stream but once it starts, doesn't stop until we turn off the water pump. Am I missing the obvious, gone crazy? It also only seems to happen when the fresh water tank is very full, if it gets down to 40% or so, doesn't seem to happen or it is so little, I don't notice it in the gravel below the coach.

There is a one valve int your city water connection that is not closing properly.

YEP^^^^

City Water Inlet connection has a check valve to prevent water from backflowing when using the pump
Cheap plastic plunger/spring/O-ring assembly. O-ring gets dislodged/plunger gets cockeyed.....leaks
*with all pressure off plumbing system, disconnect hose and then push in on the plastic tip in center of connection and release. That can reset the plunger.
If O-ring is dislodged....new city water inlet connection

Pump has an internal check valve to prevent backflow when using City Water.

You should have a check valve between the hose reel and the rest of the water system. As OB said, if that's stuck you're getting flow back from the tank. The tank sits a little higher than the hose so it flows until the level drops where it's even with the reel. The check valve is an easy change out or just take it out and see if can be cleaned. The arrow points to the one on ours that's just a few inches from the hose reel.

Yes, there is a check valve on the city water inlet. When no city water connected valve closes and keeps water system is pressurized by pump. When connected to city water and pump is off, valve opens and water system is pressurized by city water. If check valve is faulty, water will leak out of the city water connector or, a hose if it is connected at one end. Valve can be difficult to repair but depends on motorhome model. May require replacing whole city water box because some check valves cannot be physically removed for repair.

Remove hose from water-fill connection, use a pencil (eraser end) to push in the tiny plunger in the center of the water connection. You'll get wet but it will probably reseat the backflow prevention valve.

Thanks everyone, it all makes sense now. Have added it to the list of chores and sounds like it shouldn't be a major one.
