Water Hose Storage
I'm looking for new ideas for storing my water hose when traveling? The methods I've used aren't really working for me.

water hose reel? That's the defacto standard for higher line RVs.
What have you used before?
If it's a standard garden type hose (specifically the RV type), drain the water out, coil it up and throw it into a plastic storage box?

x2 on the zero-g hose. No kinking and it stores easily in the wet bay. Make sure it is 5/8" I.D.

Hi Susan! If you use the Zero G hose it flattens out and can be rolled up on one of the electrical cord storage reels or put in a plastic container.

I treat my hose like a do for anything that I eat because contamination is not fun. First I am careful with the ends, never touch anything I don't want to. The hose gets drained out after every use. NOT stored in the water bay which has black and grey water connections. It gets put in a good fashion plastic box but not sealed as it still has some water in it. Sometimes I will connect it to itself if I plan to use is soon. For long term storage I will lay it out so it can dry out, then store it. And I never use it to flush the black water tank.

I, too, store mine in a bin along with my other fresh water fittings with the lid cracked open. And, before hooking it up to my MH, I flush the hose, filter, etc. for a few seconds to eliminate any stale water, bugs, etc. I don't, but I've read about those who sanitize the hose bib and MH connection with bleach before hooking up.

The most important lesson I learned about traveling with a water hose is to hook the ends together so moisture will not be released into a sealed bay. I learned this the hard way when I opened my 5 drawer tool box (in the same bay) and most of the tools were rusty.

I stuff a Zero-G hose in this. Protects the hose, easy in and out, then I throw it in a plastic box to contain any drips.

May I inquire. When you say expandable, I think of the garden hose you get at many places. However, they are not designated "water hose" and I have been taught (maybe falsely) you need a true water hose to get clean water for RV use.
So, more info, please.
