Water pressure

Good evening all,

Rolled into a campground, hooked up my water and low pressure? My water gauge is 60psi slightly above the Monaco recommendation of 55psi? My wife was using the water pump for more pressure. When I unhooked water was flowing from my intake? My wife used the sink with the water pump and it was gushing out? I am thinking it’s a check valve? Has anyone had this problem or any suggestions?

City Water and pump discharge tie into same cold water line.

Low pressure hooked up to City Water
*Screened washer clogged
*Inlet Check Valve failure

Using pump.....pump will not RUN unless system pressure is low enough to cause pump pressure switch to close
Water coming back out of the City Water Inlet is due to Inlet Check Valve failure

You can plug city water inlet with a 3/4" PVC plug and use the pump until you can replace the City Water Inlet Assembly

**Sometimes you can reset the inlet check valve
Turn pump off, open faucet to fully relieve system pressure
Remove inlet screened washer
Center of connection is a white stub...end of check valve
push it in and then release....if cockeyed it should stick out further
If O-ring got dislodged it will not reset/stop leaking

Sounds like the back flow preventer in the shore water inlet has failed open. Quick fix until you can replace is to use a water hose shutoff valve. Shut it when not connected to shore water, and open when you are connected.

Last I checked you should always leave the water pump off when on street water.

No harm turning pump on when connected to city water.

Pump will not run unless pressure starts pump which requires low system pressure for switch to close.

45# pump....start would be 30#
55# pump....start would be 40#
65# pump....start would be 50#

Typical 15# differential between start and stop pressure set points
