Water pressure issue

2007 Holiday Rambler Scepter with electric retractable hose reel.
Water pressure is very low from city water hook-up, but good pressure when using water from the fresh water tank. My thought would be that there’s a screen where the hose connects to the reel and this screen has become clogged with debris. I can’t seem to figure out how to get to the reel to check for a clogged screen since it’s behind a panel in the wet bay.
Has anyone dealt with this issue before and if so, how did you correct the issue without removing the panel? Or is this even possible?

You could try opening and closing the tank fill valve a few times.

Not only is there a screen but also an inlet check valve

Both will be where the end of hose on the reel connects to RV Inlet

Access.....sounds like you will need to start disassembling which probably includes the panel and anything on the panel

Clogged screen.......once cleaned install better filter(s) before connecting to hose on reel

Inlet Check Valve........they are cheap plastic junk that can fail over and over again
They are necessary to keep RV fresh water when using pump from flowing back out the Inlet Connection
*Get rid of it and install on hose or a shutoff valve on hose etc

You'll need to remove that panel to get to anything behind it. It's not terribly hard, reinstalling it is probably a little more tedious.

We don't have a screen where the hose connects to the reel, but that hose, if it's original, has a tendency to kink close to the reel. Extend the hose as far out as you can, check for any kinks and see if the pressure is any better before reeling it back in.

I have the exact same issue on my 07 Scepter. I have yet to investigate fully though. On mine, the worst is the kitchen sink, but I also sometimes have issues with the toilet not wanting to fill before the ball valve opens (pedal halfway down).

Might check for a sliding panel on an athwartship bulkhead fwd or aft of the reels location for access.

Water pressure issue

We had a similar issue and found our 05 Dynasty had a factory installed pressure regulator screwed onto the end of the hose as well as one attached to the other water inlet in the bay. Removed that and problem gone.
