Water pump to 2002 Tradewinds LTC

I have traced the water inlet and filled the tank to 96 gallons, closed the bypass valve to the water heater and have tried to purge the water through the galley faucet but no water. I hear the pump trying to pump but to no avail. It is as if it is vapor locked and can't get primed. Any suggestions.

Thanks

Are you initially filling a system after being drained for the winter? If so yes you have air in the pump or you still have a drain open that is the low point drain under the pump. Sometimes I just have to turn the pump switch on and off several times then it gets water and goes. The other way is to disconnect the input hose to the pump and get a little water flowing from the tank to that line then hook it back up.

I take it that you are trying to drain your hot water heater? What you've done is simple. When you close the bypass to the WH you will not get water from your WH as there is no water pressure to the WH even if the pump is running. If you want to drain your WH, open the service door on the outside of the coach, unscrew the drain plug and let it drain out. Do NOT do this if the heater is hot. After you drain it, open the WH bypass valve and let water flush out the scale and crud, turn off the WH bypass and screw the plug back in, and check for leaks once you open the bypass valve again. If you are simply draining don't open the bypass valve again.

The way I read it is after filling your water tank the closing the hot water tank bypass valve you can't bet water flow at the kitchen sink. Did you remember to switch the water fill valve from tank fill to city water?

Did you ever get an answer? I need to find the water heater on my 2000 National RV Tradewinds 7372. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
