Waxing The Motorhome, is it recommended to wax the sides of the slideouts?

Just about finished getting the 1st coat of wax on the Anthem. Should I wax the sides of the slides or is it harmful for the seals?

I wax the side of the slides-- it's paint and the wax provides protection. I have had no adverse effects on the seals.

For the amount of area that is the side of the slide out it'll only add about 30 minutes to a wax job, also if you camp a lot the slides are out exposing the side to the elements so why not?

We always used 303 on any rubber seals or rubber anything.

Wax the sides won't hurt, as little as they are exposed to the elements once a year should be enough. I have had no issues with the rubber seals.

I waxed the slide walls on our 5er, and it made them so slick the seals would not flip when reversing directions. That wound up damaging one. Now, no wax on slide walls.

Ditto ... I always wax the slide walls and I use a good marine wax the same I use on my boat which is also fiber glass. It protects our boat which sees really tough conditions in salt water and still looks great at 23 years old.

My seals on the MH are set in far enough that if they did not flip they would not be damaged when the slide closed
