What are these wires?

I found a bundle of wires in the drivers side overhead compartment and have no clue what they are for! Anyone?

It looks like someone removed a sat dish or similar and left you with that mess. Are any of them live?

First off, WELCOME to the iRV2 family.

What year is your Discovery?

Are there numbers on the wires? If so give me a few along with the wire color and I can see if they are listed on the schematics for my 2006 Discovery.

Did you know you can contact Fleetwood and ask for wiring and plumbing schematics. It took them less than an hour to email them to me when I requested mine.

As others have suggested might be speaker leads. or more likely a wiring harness they did not need but they left it there because it's cheaper to use 1 harness for 100 different configurations than to stock 2 harnesses.

Looks like wiring for a Flux Capacitor. Just kidding of course. Do you have a Fox and Hound tone generator? They are extremely handy on a motorhome. You can follow a wire anywhere in the coach. Here is a link.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FTADX0...s_ad_dp_asin_2

Once you find the source you can determine what is was connected to.

It does have a satellite dish, but no controller other than the handles on the ceiling.

The more mature Discovery's, had a crank up manual aim satellite dish as well as a crank up over the air antenna. The newer coaches have a dome with the controller. Does yours ave a black or white dome?

What year is the coach?

Do you see the black numbers on any of the wires? They are locators and tell you what wire is what. Depending on the year of the coach, I may be able to decipher those numbers.

Looks alot like the wiring harness for my remote control spotlight. requires about 8 wires. Positive, negative, spot, flood, up, down, left, right. maybe spot never installed.

The way the wires are stripped on the ends look like they were disconnected from something.
