What are you all paying for detailing the exterior of my coach?

I've not had it done so far. Mine is a 43' fully painted Newmar. I want to keep it simple, just wash and treat the roof, and wash, buff and wax the exterior, wash the windows, and shine up the wheels and tires. That's it, no ceramic coating, or anything else like that. What is a typical price that you guys are paying for that job? I spoke briefly with one guy, he says $28 per foot, so for my coach that comes in at $1,200 for the job. Stating the obvious, that I have no idea what a fair price is, that was certainly more than I thought it would be. Was that typical or not? Thanks!

Way too much, I know of some paying $400 for the same job on that size bus.

By the way, I would not buff unless it really needs it. Buffing takes a layer of paint off or clear coat off if it is clear coated. One time too much and it will require repaint.

$10/ foot is a pretty common charge for what you want done except for the buffing. In 25 years and seven motorhomes, I have never buffed the exterior. Wash when needed and wax it once a year. Maybe citrus on the wheels, and nothing but soap and water on the tires. No tire treatment needed. I just cover them when going to be parked longer than a week.

Having mine done tomorrow. My guy charges $200.00 for my 40' coach. He washes and then hits it with a spray detail. It does not include the roof. He brings his own tank of deionized water.

We just paid $150 to wash a 45 foot class A. Included doing a great job on the wheels, and an ok job de-bugging the front. No roof. He offered to put a “quickie” spray-on wax for another $350. Brought their own water to the (urban) RV park. 4 guys, took about 1.5 hours. Memphis area.

Just paid in Arizona for my 40'er $120.00 for wash with wax in with wash solution, included roof, wheel shine and tires. They also brought their own water. You can still smell the wax.

37' 5th wheel was $400 for wash/wax and roof cleaned and conditioned. On the west coast of Florida (Crystal River area). They come to the RV Park.

Doug --

Per your info, you are located in the Houston area -- correct? If so, I highly recommend Xtreme RV Mobile Detailing who provides service across the greater Houston area --> https://rvextremedetail.net/

Xtreme RV Mobile Detailing will come to your home or storage facility or RV park to detail your coach. For my 41 foot Newmar Ventana LE, the cost is $275 to wash the exterior, including roof, wax the sides, front & back and wheels, treat the tires, etc. They usually provide a crew of three and bring their own water to do the work which takes about two hours. Their appointments backlog is typically 2-3 weeks for a Saturday appointment (sooner if work can be done on a week day).

Xtreme RV Mobile Detailing I think will remove heavy oxidation (heavy buffing, etc.) but the cost would increase considerably. If your paint is in good condition with minimal oxidation, a wash & wax should be all you need.

Caryt, I left my RV in Lake Havasu with Detailers business card on dash, can not remember name of company, this was the first time I used them, they do a lot of work at Islander RV resort.

I've had my coach washed all over the country and it seem like the average rate is $9-$10/ per foot. Yes you may find cheaper prices, but that's my usual rate. $28/ft is way to high.
