When I compare what we started with, with what we have now I see luxury. Being able to accelerate over Monteagle rather than creeping over in first or second gear is a luxury. A/C that actually cools is luxury. Having a conversation at highway speed without yelling at each other is a luxury. Pushing a couple of buttons and the coach leveling itself is a luxury.
I guess even not having to worry about those payments is a luxury. All 'luxury' is relative to what could be.

No, no, no. REAL luxury is a half bath toward the front of the coach when you have to go...real bad , and you lack the fortitude to make it to the full bath at the rear.

It appears a tent might be considered a luxury item as it provides great comfort in a rainstorm! I'd say any RV is a luxury.

    "we'll live in luxury"

adjective
adjective: luxury

Great Responses! I would have to agree that whatever makes you comfortable that isn't a necessity is a luxury. When I went to the Tampa show they had a Millenium at $2.4 million that really didn't blow my doors off anymore than the production coaches at a tenth of the cost. Guess I'm more into the mundane than the extreme RV's that can be out there.

I always laugh when I see so called luxury RV's that have features I personally find uber-ugly. Mirrored walls and ceilings are interior appointments I am NOT a fan of.

I also laugh at the RV's that have incredibly integrated "systems" only usable via an iPad. I am a tech nerd, but also know that will quit working and cause major headaches. Perhaps I wouldn't care at that point, after spending $2M another $100K to fix the climate control is a non issue.

Luxury is lots of things not on all RVs (heated tile, Aqua Hot, in motion sat antenna, larger diesel, washer/dryer, larger refer, larger fuel tank, etc)...of course it all comes with a "luxury" price tag.

If its nicer/fancier than your stick house, then its luxury. Luxury is relative, so I figure your stick house is a good reference level.

Found this
Luxury Motorhomes: What Makes A Luxury Motorhome? | Newmar Corporation

For me it's the build quality that makes it luxury. You can have all the "upgrades and accessories" there are, but if the build quality is junk so is the coach.

I think each brand/builder refers to it's highest level coach/5th wheel/trailer as a luxury model.
But some brands' lower level products might be more luxurious than another's highest level.
So there probably isn't an accurate answer to this question.
