Once we set up and turn our chair around to face the living room, I put an indoor/outdoor rug behind the driver’s chair by the pedals. We take the shoes off and throw them there. When the pile gets too big then we weed them out and put them away in the master closet.

When I retired, I said a couple of my objectives was to always be somewhere I'd be comfortable in a pair of shorts ... maybe sandals ... maybe a shirt.

We've always taken our shoes off when we go inside our house because we're both more comfortable that way. Now that we're FT on the road and our house is on wheels, we're still that way.

I function with a pair of sandals and a pair of athletic shoes. Both are usually tucked under the driver seat if I don't have to be wearing them at the time. I can't count how many pairs DW has (I don't dare to), but they're usually under / behind seats, in the closet, under the bed, ...

ditto.

our house carpet is tan wool, 20 years old, has had 9 animals live their lives on it and it looks maybe 3-5 years old. given the creature <cough> issues <cough> over the years, i wash the carpets 2-3x a year using an oxyclean solution and vacuum several times a week and it still looks great.

we've had our '95 dynasty for 1 1/2 years - bought as a weekender but haven't used it much due to health issues - but we follow no shoes in the coach, too.

YMMV.
