I have a different valve, but I do the same. You can shut the valve whenever you want with no mess. I buy 2.5 gallon jugs of oil, and put the used oil in those. 5 gallon plastic buckets are cheap for draining into.

I purchased this at AutoZone. Works well and am able to take to the recycling center.

I installed a Fumoto valve in my diesel F350. Then one time I took it to the dealer for a 30K maintenance called "the works".

Happened to look under the truck to check to see if they installed a new oil filter. No.Fumoto.Valve. I called and they didn't know anything about it's loss.

Done with that dealer. The valve was too slow anyway.

I have Fumoto valves installed on all my vehicles from a Subaru to an RV with an ISX. I have a 16 qt oil catch pan and use the oil containers I empty to drain 16 qt oil pan into. I have never felt that the Fumoto drains slow.

The Fumoto Valve is the way to go but of course that oil change to install the valve is a bear. Been there done that and now oil changes are easy.

Explain the bear issue?

I just removed the drain plug at a regular oil change interval and after draining the oil, I just screwed in the Fumoto valve instead of the old drain plug. Pretty easy really!

I use a smaller concrete mixing tub from Home Depot. $6. Fits well under the rig and holds plenty (no issues for my 27 quart change).
