What is this ?

While inspecting the area in front of the motor home I noticed a switch/crank that I never noticed before. It is part of the same housing that the hood light is. Has an arrow and says Retract.
It will crank in both directions but I have no idea what it does.

That is a light that you can pull out and look somewhere else on the coach like a rear tire, then re roll back up with the crank. Regards

There is a lock/unlock lever that releases the light which can be "reeled" out with the crank and uses to light up problem areas. When finished, use the crank to reel the light back to its stored position & locked in place with the lever.
