What kind/size of ladder do you carry with you?

I carry a 16’ Little Giant, a 2’ step ladder and a step stool. The 16 footer is handy for getting on top and in step ladder configuration but it’s heavy and difficult to stow. I’m thinking about replacing it with one of the collapsible type.

I can’t agree more with the Beverly Hillbilly’s look and for the most part, I think that constant piggy backing off the coach ladder does the coach ladder no good as far as the mounting over time is concerned with the rough conditions of our roads. I use a telescoping ladder that shrinks down to about three feet and easily fits into a bay compartment.

If you intend do any work off a step ladder, get a Little Giant. It's heavy; however, it is durable and with the adjustable legs, very stable. I had a collapsible ladder from CW and it was flimsy, and unsafe to work from.

Yeah the LG has been really handy except for the stowage issue. I used to cram it in the largest basement compartment but on the last trip I just stuffed it in the back of the toad.

I’ve wondered about the quality of the collapsible ladders and what I’ve seen at CW didn’t impress me. The thing is, if they have a Type I rating from ALA they should be safe.

I’ve seen versions of the 16 footer that have an articulating joint in the center allowing it to function like a step ladder. Has anyone seen or used one like that?

Currently a 4’ Werner..."hillbilly style" but will be "moving up" to a 6' Werner!

Been on mine for 2 days applying a Poly Glow finish. In folded to step ladder to get on roof for front cap application. Love this ladder, but, I do have the storage capacity
