what size motor would be in a 96 bounder? Was told it was a 454 but would it be a 8.1 or smaller 7.something?

ASSUMING you have a Chevy P32 chassis, it will have the 454 cu.in. GM V-8 and a GM 4L-80E 4 speed tranny. The 8.1 L motor was not available until 2001.

Depends upon who built the chassis the house is built on. Ford it would probably be the 7.5 L 460 V8. The next engine for Ford was the 6.8L 415 V10 that showed up in the RV world around 1998 or so.

GM P series as edgray posted.

Yes 454 7.4L engine. I had a 93 Bounder with the same engine.
