Coming south from Maine, where the weather was beautiful by the way, our dash A/C went on the blink. We drove into some pretty hot & humid temps, so I fired up the genny to run the roof A/C to cool it off. Everything fine for about 50 miles, and then the front A/C stopped working. We made it to a campground in Maryland got set up, called an RV Tech, he came out and said the compressor is shot. OK. It's still under warranty from Dometic ,so that's no problem. I figure we'll just have to use the rear A/C for a couple days. No such luck!!! The rear A/C is doing the same as the front. It'll put out cold air for about a minute or so, then the compressor kicks off because of overheating. Can you believe it? In a matter of a few hours ALL my A/C is out. Everything is covered by either the manufacturers warranty, or our extended warranty, but I'm wondering what I've done to deserve this. The Tech got the front A/C to work, but we can't turn it off. By early next week we'll have ALL NEW A/C's, but holy crap it's hot & humid. What are the odds?????

If he got the front one to work the compesor isn't bad.

Who knows on the dash air, but a lot of the CG in the North East have old,tired electrical systems and low voltage when there are a lot of people there running their AC's . You might have subjected the roof AC's to low voltage and shortened their lifes significantly.
A few years years ago we were in Maine and had to move to different CG's due to low voltage. After that trip I bought a Hughes Autoformer to up the voltage when needed.

If you don't have one of these yet......better get one ! It protects all the appliances in the RV from low voltage or high voltage or surges.

I'd strongly suggest you go out and buy a lottery ticket... couldn't hurt !!

I would check the generator output voltage and frequency.

Just before labor day, we left 70 degree temps and drove through 104 degree temps in 400 miles.

Dash air failed, then the front roof air died. The back AC carried the day.

So, at least one other RVer had similar problems.

But..........ours was a Dry Heat!!!
