Well kind-a,
*Accuride* is the company. ALL their wheels are Accuride but, Accushield is just a coating ON some of the Accuride wheels.

Some folks, such as yourself, prefer the coating as, it eliminates at least *some* maintenance on their coaches. Whereas, people like me, really don't have a problem with un-coated wheels. It's more of a hobby thing. Being retired, with plenty of time, an RV garage to work (play) in, NCIS on the TV on the garage wall, polishing wheels, even as infrequently as I do, is just one of those things that, it's more a pride thing. I don't blame or fault people for not wanting to do that sort of thing. The *old* shoulders, elbows, hands, fingers etc. AINT what they used to be.

Hey Scott, do you remove the lug nuts to polish or work around them? I struggle to work around mine but they still turn out pretty, especially from a few feet away.

I helped a buddy polish his American Tradition 2005 uncoated aluminum wheels. Although they could have been swapped at some point they were certainly uncoated. They cleaned up nicely to a bright clear shine in 3-4 hours. Used Mothers and a mothers power ball and the triangle shaped foam pad for use on a drill. Final polish by hand. Lots of black rags when done!

Worse part is where a rock or something was tumbling around in the rear wheels, or where the water can sit when parked.

All of my Aluminum "Accuride" wheels are now getting that hazy white streak look that does not come off with regular cleaning. It seems to be getting worse each week.

I assume it is the clear coat wearing out and trapping contaminants inside?

What is the best and easiest way to strip off the clear coat, and then polish and protect the wheels?
