When to replace tires?

Just purchased a 2016 Newmar Dutch Star 3736 and tires are stamped July 2015. Should I replace them now? Also has anyone had any issues with Toyo tires. BTW newbie here first post!

Bought our Bay Star in 2018 and put new Toyo tires on it in 2019 and I've been very happy with them. They're good tires at a great price.

Welcome to the forum!
Assuming the tires are in good condition with no obvious issues, they should be replaced at 7 years from the date stamped on the tires. In your case July 2022. Many factors can affect tire life. Things such as mileage, unusual wear patterns, plugs or patches, dry rot, sun damage etc.. inspect each tire carefully for any signs of unusual wear or cracking. Pay particular attention to the sidewalls and lines between the treads.
I have run Toyo tires on cars but not on a coach so I can’t help there.

If the cost to replace is in your budget then replace. The problem, in my mind, is you have no idea how the tires were used over the past four-five years. How many miles with low pressure, how many curbs strikes, pot holes, never or sometimes covered,,,.

I've never had Toyo tires on any vehicle so can't say anything about them that isn't hearsay.

The Toyo's are on our coach along with a couple of friends coaches. Great service, great ride, great price.

Per Goodyear:

Per Michelin:

Per Toyo:

Per Bridgestone:

Save you time looking at each, 10 years max possibly less depending on use. Sitting and not rolling is harder on tires than you'd think.

Replace every 6-7 years unless you drive 25K miles a year to keep rubber.
When tires are manufactured compounds are added to help protect the rubber from weather cracking and ozone damage. The problem is the tire needs to be rolling down the road, heating up and flexing for these compounds to work their way to the surface of the tire and protect the rubber from damage. So, when tires sit still, like in storage they start to dry out causing them to age faster.
Inspect for sidewall cracks on both sides, inside of outside rear is tough to inspect properly.

Appreciate all the great feedback. I noticed small cracks around the lettering on the sidewalls. The guy what owned this Dutch Star has not really driven for the last six months. It is still winterized and has less then 20K miles on it.

If you perform a search on this forum you’ll find many threads on this topic.
Unless the tires have been poorly cared for or show damage they don’t need to be replaced at the 5 year mark.

Here's a great read from Michelin - but the concepts apply for all tires.

dbricky gave the various manufacturers recommendations. They might know. I and all most all of us can only offer our guesses!

I wouldn’t go more than 7-8 yrs if. They look good without cracks.
A crack means change the tire now.
Just my opinion, after seeing some one try to save $4,000 but spent $22,000 after a blow out

I have Toyo m144's and they are a good option. Rule of thumb is replace after 5-7 years. I don't know if this is accurate but the result of a blowout costs several times what replacement tires cost so is it is practical.

Toyo tires are usually good for six to seven years, that is what I use on my coach the M-154. Very good tires. But coaches that sit for long periods at a time tend to get sun rot and that is any brand. So if you see long deep cracks it is time to change them out.
