The dump station is only open during warm weather months.

That's a good rest area as it's set off from the highway (less noise). The first one just past the NY state border is also quieter as it's set off away from the highway.

They finally re-opened the one towards the MA border, but it's close to the highway.

While on the road between longer stops, we stay at Walmart or other 'free' camping spots. Only downside was in NE PA at a Walmart. The Volunteer Fire department was offering rides to kids around the lot, with siren, all evening. Luckily they stopped at 9 pm and we had quiet the rest of the night.

We stayed at a campground in Conn. off I-84 before the MA border, don't remember the name but it was O.K. for an night. Problem was, next morning the GPS tried to route us through a military base to reach the interstate again. We had to drive around the base, they weren't crazy about letting an RV drive through.
