Where exactly do folks with the nice 1+ million dollar coaches stay?

I've been rv'ing 5-6 years now in our 20 year old RV. We usually try to pick the nicest RV park we can find by Googling, and the cost isn't a big issue. I'm at a point in my life where I could in theory buy a really nice new coach though it would be a huge purchase, but haven't and realistically never will. I do think its wonderful other folks do buy these, though. You work hard, you might as well buy a really nice coach.

Most of the resorts we stay at seem to cater to everyone. Some have 10 year old or newer coach restrictions, but have let us in.

Its rare to EVER see an expensive 1+ million dollar newer Liberty/Prevost/etc.

We see lots of new Newmar/ Winnebago $400k to $800k coaches, but that's about it.

I know there are some very high end resorts in Florida, Arizona, etc. But are there really that many high end resorts that owners of these coaches have places to go? To me, it seems like there is only a handful...

So I'm curious, if you have a really nice pricey coach, where do you go? What are the nicest resorts?

Or do you just buy a lot in a resort, and only travel there every year?

High-end Class A-only rv resorts like this one in Indio, CA with fully developed lots may include a 9’ x 13’ foot casita, up to a 600 sq.ft. “coach house” known as a “Tiled Roof Shade Structure” and a private pool and spa. https://www.motorcoachcountryclub.co...3af88ca8dd3b24.

Newmar publishes an interesting guide most years.

https://www.newmarcorp.com/free-rv-downloads/

However, I would say the number of true 'million dollar' rigs is very low. Probably no more than a few thousand.

Few people are willing to spend the two or three years it takes to have that kind of RV built new, and there are not but a couple folks left in that business. Though there appears to be a very small but steady group of companies rebuilding classic old rigs. A handful a year.

I have seen videos on You tube, these resorts seem fabulous. But are there really that many of them? Or do folks just stay at the same places every year?

There are high end resorts in many locations. Southern California, Florida, the gulf coast, Michigan etc. Heck, there is one in Polson, Montana.
But those rigs are on the road as well. You will find them at events like the Superbowl and college football games. They go to concerts and fairs.
And they just tour the country like everyone else. We would see a dozen or so every year at our parks. They are just like everyone else, they like to see the country.
While they aren’t frivolous with their money, they don’t seek out the cheapest places. They are concerned with convenience, high quality utilities and ease of maneuverability. Hit those boxes and the park will see the million dollar rigs on occasion.
But there just isn’t that many, period. So you won’t see one around every corner.

Ours certainly isn't in the $1M+ category, but, we do sometimes stay in pretty nice places. Polson Motorcoach Resort fits that description. Our rented site was gorgeous, looking across Flathead Lake to the Mission Mountains. There's even a small airport in easy view for some plane watching.

Our second night there, DW asked if I'd grill some steaks on the ourdoor kitchen grill. I was happy to oblige and quickly ran into a snag; I couldn't figure out how to light the Lynx Professional 42 Inch Built-In All Infrared Trident Natural Gas Grill w/ Rotisserie - L42ATR-GLNG (https://www.bbqguys.com/i/3173800/ly...PxpySCHVQRnvQA). My quick Google search for grill instructions first took me to a website that offered the installed grill for sale - $8,999 (current MSRP). The outdoor kitchen included the grill, ice maker, refrigerator, freezer, sink and two burner cooktop. I was shocked to find no trash compactor installed. We did enjoy evenings by the fire pit much more than we would have used a trash compactor.

Unlike some places we've stayed that were much more invested in resort amenities (which we don't typically use), Polson offers gorgeous sites and beautiful views.

On the same property, just up the hill is this: https://koa.com/campgrounds/polson/?...4aAkoeEALw_wcB if you're looking for something a little less expensive.

Take care,
Stu

My in-laws have an older Prevost 45' bus. They cross the country a few times a year. They usually stay in KOAs or Harvest Hosts while on the road. While they're out here, they stay in my driveway. They're not full-timers, they use the bus for traveling back and forth across the country in comfort and to see things along the way.

They stay at high priced resorts that are beach side, lake side, or with mountain views for the most part. Many of them are gated, some of them you must purchase a lot, or rent it from the owner or property management office. Find any park that is more than $150-$200 per night and you will find the nice coaches.

They built an RV park locally to us on the lake in a gated marina development. The owners purposefully priced it way high knowing it would only be half full year round. They did this to ensure that (mostly) high end rigs will book there.

Defiantly not all but some are trying to go high end. I have been in two with that level of amenities.

I stayed in a resort in Chula Vista, Ca about 15 years ago and there were 13 Prevost's parked in a row together. We were there 4 days and never saw anyone near them. I don't know where they were but they weren't outside when we were.

Nailed it. This is the only real high-end RV resort in Ohio: https://motorcoachresortles.com/

The last time we were there we had a Foretravel next to us, a couple of Prevosts across the street, and three Newells on the other side of us. Several more high-end DP's were there at the same time.

I think the site sizes range from 9,800 sq ft upwards of 14,000 sq ft. They are designed to accommodate a small house and several people bought lots and built their summer homes there. That true resort is in NE Ohio and barely a stone's throw from Lake Erie. They have real winters there so the place is almost abandoned for months.

The pic is from early December 2024. A friend owns a lot there and he said his buddy with a Prevost did not make it out in time but he's got a house so it was all good.

We were one of three gassers in the place during the summer. That's us, lowering the property values wherever we travel.
