Where to get replacement 20 gallon LP tank?

Prices in Canada are kind of crazy for this type of part. Who is a well price US supplier? thanks

20 gallon is a big tank, not a bbq tank.

Wal-Mart, and other stores list them.Click image for larger version

A "20 gallon" LP tank contains about 85 lbs of propane and the tank itself is heavy, so well over 100 lbs total. A fairly standard size ASME fixed tank would be 24 gallons, which translates to 100 lbs of propane. Such tanks sell for around $700 at RV or propane dealers but might be found for as low as $400 at online discounters. Horizontal ASME tanks typically cost more than vertical DOT-spec models.

He’s looking for a 20 GALLON tank I think not a 20# tank. That’s pretty small for a RV tank. Mine is 30 gallon, and of course you can only use 80% so that leaves me with 24 gallons.

They look to be about $650 us at several online sights. Doesn’t seem to be much difference in price and also not much difference between 20 gallons and 30 gallons

Look in RV salvage yards for one that fits your requirements.

Thanks for the responses. This is the 20.2g mounted tank for my 2004 Santara Grand class A. Its showing a lot of surface rust on the bottom half of the tank.

If the tank is not pitted real bad you should be able to scrap, wire brush the surface rust and repaint the tank with a good rust inhibiting paint.

+1 with try clean and paint. DA sander, start with from 36/40 grit to start work way down to 80 grit for metal clean. Scuff paint you will paint over 220 with . The tanks are made out of good steel that doesn't rust away junk metal does.

I am too cheap... I purchased a tank at an RV Salvage yard. I wire-brushed all of the rust, had the interior inspected, repainted the tank metallic silver (yea, I am an oldie...), and installed it.

Manchester tank will have all of the parts you need, and it ain't cheap let me tell you.
