SC Blue, yes, many older gasoline Class A's and many new Class C's still require plugging the shore cord into the generator's dedicated outlet. However, your new unit most likely has an automatic transfer switch. If you have let the genset run for over a minute and still have no AC power inside the coach, might I suggest you check the AC breaker(s) on the front of the genset itself. Depending upon which genset you have, you may need to remove the front cover to access the breaker(s). Post your genset make/model and I can better direct you.
