Who uses Diesel additive and how often?
I've started using Diesel Kleene about ever 3rd or 4th fill up. I was curious if I should use it at every fill up?

I do. Added lubricity for pre emission diesels can’t hurt a thing.
I go between using Diesel Kleen and Howes lubricity additive every fill up, as well as purchasing a B10-B20 biodiesel blend fuel whenever available.
Remember our diesel engines were not designed for ULSD (virtually no sulphur) fuel.

Use Diesel Clean every 3rd or 4th fill up. Also use Star Tron if it will be parked for a few months.

I only used an additive, a biocide, during longer term storage and in conjunction with a full tank. Biobar JF was my choice.

I do the same.
In addition, if storing summer grade diesel into winter (below freezing), add an anti-gel. PS brand is available from most Walmarts.

When I attended Camp Freightliner they recommended Diesel Kleen every 3-4 fillups. As I recall Cummins had acquired the Diesel Kleen brand so there could be some influence there - just sayin'. I do add a 32 oz. bottle of Diesel Kleen when I remember to buy it, can't say I notice any difference in performance. Maybe the fuel system is cleaner and I doubt it is harmful.
Safe travels,

Yep--- that's what they told us too. If I remember, I'll add some every 3-4 fillups... I usually buy a couple large jugs at tractor Supply and keep them in the bay.

I add 16oz Diesel Kleen and 1oz Biobor JF every fill (about 80 gallons) for my 2001 Cat C12.

I add a biocide last fill up of the season before putting away for the winter. I also use straight Diesel Kleen to fill fuel filter when doing annual service. Otherwise, that's all.

I add the recommended amount of Power Service Diesel Kleen per gallon, based on the number of gallons purchased, at every fuel stop.
My chassis manufacturer has made no recommendation as to how my engine should be maintained, but I do follow Cummins recommendation above for my engine that was not designed for bio fuel.
Power Service was never purchased by Cummins as suggested around the campfire and in internet lore.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I'll just for now stay with what I'm doing about every 3rd or 4th fill up.

Diesel vehicles, motorhomes and equipment since 1985 and only additive ever used was anti-gel when its gets near 0 and below. Use what makes you feel good.
