Wholesale Warranties

I know there are several current threads rolling about this company and extended warranties in general... So I called them and got what seems to be a very good initial quote from them through "Protrek". The Administrator is First Automotive Service Corp. The insurance company that backs the policy is Dealers Assurance Company. Does anyone have any experience with this specific policy? I am asking because I read several of you have "Xtra ride" through Wholesale Warranties...

Also, anyone that has dealt with Wholesale Warranties in general... Did you negotiate your ultimate policy cost?

I am beginning to realize you can spend a lot of time researching what is covered, adding on "riders", negotiating, and then comparing to other companies, and in the end hope it will be worth it.

I dealt with Wholesale Warranties. I have a Cornerstone United policy through them. Haven't used it yet. It is the same policy that Lazy Days is selling , which gave me some confidence in it. All of these policies are negotiable.

I dealt with Wholesale Warranties, I haven't used them yet, I was able to get them to add Coach Net for free and half the cost of tire coverage.

I shopped around and went with ww. Very negotiable on terms and coverage. Dont forget " CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE COVERAGE" is the must have.

Thinking about Cornerstone as well. Gerneral RV promotes them through their dealership. also. Does it have Consequential coverage and was it negotiable through WW?

Lazy days was selling cornerstone and almost $1000 more than WW. Dealers make money on this. Do your research and make phone calls. They all bargain when you say so and so offers this at this price.

I use Good Sam Club's extended warranty. For about 130 a month and a $250 Deductible, there's not much it doesn't cover.

Rick, Wholesale Warranties' initial quote to me is for 3 yrs, $2800, and a $200 per repair deductible. However nobody seems to have any experience with the company they quoted me... So that's not making feel real warm and fuzzy... Your policy through GS is about $4000 over the same period, with a higher deductible. Do you get what you pay for or is GS overpriced? I've seen posters say they've paid as little as $1800 for a 5 year policy through Xtra Ride and love it... On the other hand, I've read threads in other forums that say extended service plans are a horrible rip off and that you would do better to self insure. Since I live in the NE and have a couple of months before my MH even leaves the driveway, I have time to see what I can continue to learn and negotiate with these guys...

As you said, you haven't found anyone who has experience with Wholesale Warranties, Good Sam is known by everyone. I guess the extra price is worth the peace of mind that they will be around when I need them.

just because they are around doesnt mean your coverage is adequate. You have to know whats in your contract and what you paid for. Do a search and you will find tons of info in these forums.

I've found many members on this site (and others) that have policies that were originated by Wholesale Warranties... and have had a good experience with them. Actually, that's how I came about calling them. What I haven't seen is anyone that has a policy from "Protrek". After speaking with WW, that is the company they recommended for me and gave me a quote for. Most people either have Xtraride or Good Sam. I plan on calling WW tomorrow to discuss this further. I will let you know how it goes...

Has anyone ever thought about just setting up a little account for unforseen problems and pay that same amount of money into it each month...? Seems like you would come out way ahead in the long run and you'd be saving your own money...!

I have a policy with wholesale warranty and I have had multiple claims and they always paid up no problem, one of the repairs was $5000.00 when my rear dif. Went. In my opinion they are great. Joe

$1560 a year + 250 deductible will pay for a LOT of repairs over the years.
