There are so many different options people use you will end up with a giant list.
The 4 most common, with many variations on each:
Cellphone hoptspoting
Jetpack/myfi/hotspot hubs
Cellular routers
Satellite
You decision will be based on prioritizing the following:
Cost
Speed
Reliability
Amount of data you need
How often you use it
How you plan on using it
We both work remotely. Our phone hotspots are our back ups (when in cellular coverage).
We used a cellular router with unlimited (may throttle ) data which has worked great for the last couple of years, but limited us on staying in areas with good coverage.
We now have Starlink to allow us to go almost anywhere and have good service.
The downside to Starlink is that is it not mobile (yes new antenna for $2500 is available) so it is only "on" when we set it up. I kept the cellular router since is it always on and only $32/mo.
With that said our total annually "internet" bill is just over $2000. While it sucks, we also need reliable due to work and want to travel so it is just part of our "cost" of the lifestyle.
