I just bought a 300 foot roll on Ebay for less than $20.00 with free shipping. A kit from CW will cost way more than that for 2 windows.

Ted,
I just replaced all by blinds with MCD blinds, a little expensive but there a lot nicer than the old blinds.

I Googled ... found this: http://www.janeandjohn.org/pages/MCD/mcd1.html
Those blinds are powered, and my guess sort of expensive compared to restringing the old cell shades.

Don't mean to hijack your thread but do you have any recommendations for Replacement more Modern Blinds for my 07 Gulfstream
It has What feel like Paper and they don't fold up right and get all kinked up.
I would like a dual Shade one for day and one for night that is if High quality.
I have done several searches but not much luck finding anything helpful.

If you have lots of money, MCD shades are great, we have replaced them on three windows so far....love them. but $$$$$$

My coach came with "aluminum micro-mini blinds" on all 6 side windows.
Like these: 1/2" Micro Aluminum Mini Blinds...(at 18 years of age and 132k miles they are in like new condition).
Unlike day/night pleated blinds, they can be adjusted to allow air to flow through while still providing privacy.

I bought a kit and looked at the YouTube video. It looks so easy, BUT ... I can not for the life of me remove the clear plastic end caps on the day/night shades. These blinds are from a 2005 Monaco Cayman, but I do not know who made them. Does anyone out there have a method to remove these ends?
Any help appreciated.

on mine the endcaps are just pushed in. you can use a small flat screwdriver to pry them out.

I have had to have all of the blinds in my Itasca Meridian restrung. I just remove them myself and take them down to a shop in my town that sells/repairs blinds. It costs me $50.00 but it's much easier than going thru the hassle of doing it myself. One thing I have learned from the blind man though, is that the factory that makes the blinds doesn't clean the burrs out of the holes before they string them. Make sure that whoever restrings them does this, as my guy says that is 90% of the cause of blinds having to be restrung.

Got the job done. They work like new. Next time I'm just going to buy the string.
Thanks to everyone.
