Window Replacement

I am having to replace a window in my 2016 rig. I have never done this before so will entertain any input on this post as to how to proceed.

I have the new window in hand and am ready to start the job. 2016 HR HD . Front window, next to the copilot seat, with small vent window at the bottom. (expensive and heavy), LOL. Was able to order the whole assembly from REV and took only two days to arrived from ID to TN.

NOTE, the original vent window came loose and departed the motor home at highway speed (interstate 69) with no damage to the window frame or coach. Was going to order just the vent window but went with the whole window instead.

Thanking you in advance, Bumpus4.

Always something, ain't it.

Not sure about your coach but on ours:
Remove window valance
Remove screws holding window in place from the inside
Have someone on the outside to secure window from falling and then push window out may be tight
Reverse to install

Suggest you put your rig make/model/year into a signature.

I see you have a HR Endeaver.

My window is held in place from the inside. On the inside the flange is screwed into the outside portion, this is what holds the window in place.

In the past to remove one of my windows I've removed all but 4 of the screws, loosening them enough to allow the window to move a little. Go outside and use a plastic putty knife to break the seal around the window. At that point the window should be loose. I've then rig up a bungee cord to hold the window in place from the inside. Remove the rest of the screws on the inside. Go outside and pull the window out and release the bungee cord.

After the window is out you'll have to clean any sealant back off the side of the coach. Not sure what they used to seal your window, on mine it is a piece of weather stripping that is stuck to the window. If yours is the same, and you don't damage it while removing you should be able to use it to put the window back.

Install the window and inside flange.

Use a clear NON-Silicone type sealant on the outside around the perimeter of the window. Use the clear

I want to thank all who replied to my request about window replacement. I reviewed all of your post and followed up on all your advise. Only problem is I have no helper as I live
in the country with no close neighbors. The post about using the bungy (sp) cord was spot on. The post's about the window sealing saved me a lot of rework. Thanks again.
