Windshield replacement quality

Original windshield was 8 years old, a rock hit at the top and I did not notice until the crack came down the middle. Windshield was replaced with by insurance, 2 trips since replacement and I have 4 rock chips. Several times rocks hit making loud noises and did not leave a chip on original windshield. Am I just unlucky or is it the replacement in not the quality as the original. I noticed the same thing on my last motorhome. Where can you get a quality windshield.

We had to have our windshield replaced last year. The insurance company contracted with a local place for the labor, but sourced the glass themselves and sent it to the contractor. The windshield was warped, and leaked like a sieve. The installer normally purchases glass from reputable sources, and they dealt with the insurance company to get a replacement from a quality source. The replacement fit perfectly, and we've had no problems with it. So, for the best place for glass, trust a local experienced installer to know where to get it.
