Windshield Shifted
We are camping now and while washing the front windshield I discovered the 2 pieces of glass have shifted almost an inch toward the drivers side. Not sure when it happened maybe when I go in and out of the storage lot as the driveway and highway are different heights by 3-4 inches. The front of the coach moves a lot when I turn onto the highway but I always go slowly.
I have taped over the gaps and about 18" past on both sides with a "3M Tough" transparent duct tape to get us home. I will get a glass company to put in a new rubber gasket and handle the fix. The glass did not break, just shifted. I wonder if my ins. will pay for any of the repair?
Anyone experience anything like this?
John

Had a bad experience on a very rough road. Followed my GPS (bad, bad, bad) and when the blacktop ended, only dirt and no easy turnaround. Un hooked toad, did a twelve point turn around. Was pretty rough, and uneven. two piece window shifted. when arrived at Colorado, glass company came, spoke with ins co. and they paid to have both windows removed, channel cleaned and windows reset. I undoubtedly twisted the 38' MH too much in the turnaround. In NY, and have full glass coverage. Good luch!!!

Thanks for the feedback. Do you remember how much they charged to fix it?

Insurance covered the cost, never saw a bill.

Had mine done last week for the same problem. I have glass coverage and it was 100% covered. Glass company here said if I hadn't had insurance it would have been about $200 per side to remove and reinstall the two piece windshield.

Carefull with the glue. If you have a curved window that bends around the side of the coach and you glue both sides and the coach flexes - it may break the glass on the bend....
