Windshield Washer Reservoir not working

My fellow Newmar DutchStar owners:

I own a 2015 Newmar DutchStar model 4369 (all electric). I had a front windshield replacement whereby the windshield arms and water reservoir hoses were disconnected. When all the work was completed my windshield water reservoir does not work. Anybody have any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this problem?

Thanks to all Newmar owners for your input! A wealth of information out there.

When you say the "reservoir does nt work." Do you mean it won't hold washer solution, the pump fails to pump, or the solution doesn't hit the windshield?

If it's the pump, it could be a fuse in with the other chassis functions, a loose wire, or a failed pump motor. Check for 12v at the pump leads, making sure there's a good ground connection.

If the pump runs but the solution doesn't spray, you might still have a disconnected hose or it could be kinked, preventing flow.

What did the replacement company say about this?

Replaced a bad pump (easy to find at NAPA), no flow to windshield. Disconnected tubing that feed into wiper, applied a little air backwards, everything works fine.

Good luck

The washer pump that Newmar used is notorious for failing. There is a post in the Newmar Owners Forum that gives the Napa part number. I looked for the thread, but for some reason, search words won't come up. Along with the Napa part number, one of the posters used a one way valve to keep the water from draining back. I added the valve and new pump to mine, it works great.

Thanks "ScottyBye" for finding the post. Here is the one way valve I added https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FAM6EYE

My wipers have worked great since and no delay waiting fro water to pump up to the blades, especially if you don't use them very often.
