Windshield wipers not working

My 2006 Fleetwood Excursion 39J windshield wipers will not stay on. Work fine with washer function, but will not work normally.

Any suggestions on where to begin troubleshooting?

My rig has a wiper control module located below the instrument panel against the firewall. Maybe your having problems with that. The module is about the size of a pack of cigarettes with a electrical connector plugged into one end.

I second the possible bad module. This is exactly what happened to our RV. You described the problem to a tee. Ours was located driver side under the dash next to the floor.
Does yours have a light that either goes red or green when you select wipers.

A light would be very helpful but sadly mine doesn't have one. That might have cost a whole 2¢ more to incorporate. I think the people making these kind of decisions have never had to troubleshoot an electrical problem.

Our fiberglass rigs are notorious for grounding problems with our 12vdc systems. In washer mode, the system may be getting ground thru the washer, but in run mode, that ground does not exist. Check the ground on the motor. Your wiper motor may be isolated on rubber grommets, so it would need a dedicated ground wire. Put the wiper switch in low speed and apply a wire to the body of the wiper motor and a good ground and see if it turns. CAREFUL,watch out for moving wiper parts and stationary body parts.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Not familiar with the Fleetwood so can't offer suggestions.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
