Winegard RoadTrip Minimax aged out?

Hello Everyone, thanks for all your help in the past. I have a question about my 2002 Itasca with a Winegard Roadtrip Minimax Satellite antenna. When I purchased this MH there was no receiver, to be expected. But when I called DISH to get a receiver I was told there is no compatible receiver and I have to by a new unit. Are they just trying to make a sale or is my Winegard aged out?

I can't answer about your Road Trip but I do know some of the older antennas wont work with the newer satellites. If it were me, I would contact Winegard and see if there is some software upgrades.
I don't think Dish makes much, if anything on hardware. They make their money on selling signal.
