Question Winnebago Basement Air

Needing info and help for a 2005 Winnebago Journey 36G, Diesel Pusher. This M/H has a basement type AC AND GAS PACK SYSTEM. IS it possible to charge the AC and or can they be replaced by newer unit? Any help appreciated for this VN Veteran and American patriot.

May I ask, what in the world is a "Gas pack system"?

AirXcel/Coleman still makes new units that can replace that one. There may be some slight modification, but they are basically the same.

If you do a search there is a thread that shows how to pull the unit out for service and replace its not that difficult and they can of course be replaced.

Got my curiosity up too Scott so I had to consult the all knowing, all seeing Mr. Google. Apparently it's a combination AC and gas furnace:

Gas packs are self-contained prepackaged HVAC systems that provide heating and cooling in one unit. They’re similar to packaged air conditioners, but instead of an electrically-powered air conditioner paired with electric strips for heating, gas packs pair a natural gas furnace with an AC or consist of a heat pump powered by gas, propane or oil.

I don't think it would apply to the OP since the Winnebago system is an AC/Heat Pump with a separate furnace, or at least our '06 Itasca was.
